To the Studio!
Hello Everyone!
First of all, we'd like to thank all of you for constantly reminding us that we promised we'd have an album out by now. Yes. We DO know! lol
That being said we want to provide a little insight as to why. The recording we made in West Virginia just didn't work out. 'Nuff said. It was a good experience and it really helped us learn and grow as a band as well as how to do things in a studio. Overall we were glad to have done it and we were happy to come out of it with some cuts of the "new" songs with the full band. Ultimately we just weren't ready for the studio yet. Dave did a great job with us in the limited time we had to record it and we wouldn't take it back for a second.
Now onward! We have agreed to a deal with Scott Knabb at Knabb's Attic Studio to re-cut the album. As some of you know, recently we recorded a Christmas track for Scott's annual charity CD and we were very impressed with what came out of it. (You'll get to hear it some time in September.) Very soon after we cut the track we decided Scott was the person to cut the album. He really seems to get what our sound is like and knows how to make it shine through.
As for the album, we added some songs to the playlist and also cut a few but we think its going to be a great product that you'll all enjoy.
That is all!

Happy 4th of July!
We just want to thank everyone who came out and supported us last night. It was probably the best full 2 and a half hour show that we've ever done and we were really stoked that so many people showed up and liked it.
Thanks to Rob Mohney and Heritage Days for giving us the opportunity to play in front of our hometown crowd for the 1st time this summer.
Make sure you check out the rest of our shows this month at Woodpeckers in New Kensington on the 25th, Hard Rock Cafe on the 26th, and our next big one at the Folk Festival in Kittanning.
Also we should have a big announcement about the new album coming within the next couple weeks so stay tuned.
Much Love,
RnR

Back in The Studio...
... for just a little bit.
We recorded an original arrangment today of "Away in a Manger" and we'll post it for you all to listen to closer to Christmas. We'll also let you know how you can snag a copy as soon as it's available.
The track will be included on an annual Christmas album that benefits animal shelters around the area that is sponsored by Knabb's Attic Studio.
We will also be performing the track live at the annual concert at the Casino Theater in Vandergrift, Pa on December 5th, so keep your eyes open for the show. All proceeds go to charity as well.
That is all!
Much Love,

Rising Regina to Record Full Length Album
We are very happy to announce that we will be recording our debut album at MovieSound Recording Studios in Parkersburg, WV from January 10th-18th with Emmy Award winning composer and producer David Traugh. To find out more info on David, to to his website www.davidtraugh.com.
I'm sure you all noticed that we hadn't scheduled any shows in December or January and the reason is that we wanted to get ready for the studio and also rest up and become tighter as a family.
We will be posting a diary from the studio while we journey through our first experience as a band in the studio and we invite you to read, and comment both here and on our MySpace Page.
We can't wait to get the album finished and out to the public and hope that all of you are as excited as we are! Thats all for now!
Much love,

Rising Regina Completes Line-up with Full Band!
Hello all. As some of you know we have added two new members to the Rising Regina family in Pat Rein and Dave "Funk Daddy" Traugh. They will be rounding out the band with a rhythm section as Pat will be our percussionist and Dave will be our stand up bassist.
Now a little about the guys:
Pat Rein:
Pat Rein is a musician at heart. He has played percussion instruments since 2002 and also plays piano, acoustic and electric guitar. Pat is fresh out of high school from Columbus , Ohio where he developed his percussion skills in several styles as |
 |
| a member of his school's wind ensemble, symphonic, and marching bands. With these bands Pat has performed in places such as Carnegie Hall and the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii . He also enjoys jamming with friends and musicians from local bands. Pat is excited to be apart of Rising Regina and eager to blend his sound with the band this coming summer. |
 |
|
Dave Traugh:
David has grown up in a family of musicians and has been playing bass for 8 years. He has never regretted his choice to play the bass, absolutely loving his role in a band.
|
| Dave has played in various jazz groups in the Pittsburgh area, including the the Pittsburgh Jazz Society Student Big Band. When he was 9 years old, David was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma and
underwent Chemo Therapy, ever since then David has strived not to take anything in life for granted and loves every minute he is playing his bass. |
We hope you are all as excited about this as we are and we will be starting to perform as a full band in early June so look out!
That is all

!IMPORTANT! CD Problems! - Great Crowd Last Night
First of all we'd like to thank everyone who came out to Nite Courts last night and made it such a fun time for all of us. It was our first real good experience with crowd reaction and participation and we had a blast.
On that note, many of you bought CD's last night and it's already becoming quite apparant that some of the CD's sold came without the most important part. THE CD!
As a result, we now have to go through our entire inventory of CD's and make sure the rest are OK, which we plan on doing today.
If you are in possession of one of those invisible CD's, please send us an e-mail at band@risingregina.com with the following information:
- Your Name
- # of Defective CD's
- Whether you intend to have them mailed to you -OR- whether you'd like to pick them up at the next show you come to
- Mailing Address (If you choose to have it sent to you through the mail)
We are VERY sorry for any inconvenience and we promise we're not trying to steal from you by giving you nothing when you give us $5 of your hard earned pay to listen to our CD. So make sure you let us know about the CD's as fast as possible so we can get this fixed in a timely manner.
Thanks Everyone!
